About Us

Lorna has been a tax and estate planning attorney since 1995. She opened her own practice in 2010 to better serve the Bay Area special needs community. She is licensed to practice law in California, Nevada, and Arizona and holds a Master of Laws in Taxation, which she received cum laude from the University of San Diego in 2002.

Lorna’s primary practice areas include general and limited conservatorship, special needs planning (including 1st and 3rd party special needs trusts), probate administration upon death, and court supervised accountings

Lorna also works closely with non-profit organizations. She currently serves as President/Chairman of the Board of Directors of California Community Opportunities, a non-profit organization committed to renewing the lives of adults with disabilities through authentic teaching in their homes and communities. She has also served as Chairman of the Board of Directors for two additional non-profit organizations serving the Bay Area special needs community: Angels on Stage, a theater troupe of children with differing abilities, and Special Kids Connect, an organization dedicated to developing resources, raising awareness and providing support for children with disabilities and their families. Lorna has also served on the Board of Directors of PACE – Pacific Autism Center for Education and Life Services Alternatives, a non-profit organization providing exceptional community living options and community programs for adults with developmental disabilities. In 2011, she founded the Bay Area Professionals Special Needs Network – a network of service providers working together to better serve the special needs community.

Prior to opening her own practice, Lorna was tax attorney/tax consultant for several high profile organizations, including the international public accounting firm Arthur Andersen LLP, and my CFO, Inc., a wealth management services firm. Her primary focus was the development, and implementation of tax planning strategies for high net worth individuals, including wealth accumulation, wealth preservation, and wealth transfer planning techniques. She also spent a significant amount of time in the implementation and management of charitable planning strategies, including private foundations, supporting organizations, donor advised funds and charitable remainder/lead trusts.

Lorna is a mid-western girl, born and raised in Michigan. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biopsychology from the University of Michigan in 1992.
